PES Become a Legend

With the arrival of the new PES demos, I think everyone in the PES community has been taking the opportunity to test out the new gameplay. I too was one of those people!
But, not to deter playing the actual game when it is released, I decided instead to continue my career with my become a legend mode. Galarath has certainly been top of my list when entering this mode since its arrival to the well known franchise.

I am not saying I did not have a go at the demos, but just that I did not excessively play them.

For me my BAL campaign was the clincher. I had well exceeded 14 seasons worth of my ML mode, as well as play online within this mode, but they had Macedonia their time.

My BAL career still had another 10 years left of gameplay. The problem is that I have not been able to get back on track enough to reach anywhere near the end of this mode. Galarath is now 27, but still has a good length of time before reaching his retirement .

However daunting the prospect seems and how far I need to go, I will still continue to play. This will be until the new full game is released. I do not see myself completing this task, but I will still give it a go.

In the next version, I do hope to complete as many modes as I can and post my quests, achievements and views.

PES 2012 DEMO LEAVES ME WANTING MORE!

Hello fellow PES fans and welcome back to the PRO EVO MASTERS LEAGUE.

I am sure that I'm not the only PES player to have downloaded and played the demo to the future release of the PES franchise. The PES 2012 demo cannot be compared to the full release by any means, but it definately gives us a snippet of things to come.

The game does look improved in many ways, but in the same respect there do seem to be some bugs.

A short description from Konami's official PES 2012 page follows below:

• Teammate AI has become more true to life on defense and offense - Your team plays more cohesively
• New Off-the-ball-controls - Take even more control in dead-ball situations to manage your team strategy
• Zonal marking and positional defending are massively enhanced - Players are forced to work harder to split defenders
• Collision detection is overhauled - The physicality of top-level soccer is captured
• Graphics are updated again -Movements, facial representations and pitches have built upon last year's massive improvements

The bugs that I refer to within PES 2012 focus mainly around the way the goalkeeper behaves! There are so many within the community that have focused on this sole bug. The problem surrounding this bug is that, people, this is a DEMO! And the first one at that. There is another demo to come before the release of the full game!

So let us all calm down and take in the fact that the game itself has eliminated the massively dire bug within 2011 that a fellow blogger referred to as the "Stumble Animation"! Some other changes show the speed of the game to have slowed, the ball has become heavier, but in general, the game itself seems to have become more realistic.

I have to admit, I have not avidly played the demo as much as some fellow PES players, but I have played enough. I do not want to get too involved with the demo before the game is released. I do play it occasionally still, but mostly, PES 2011 is still not finished for me.

Within PES 2011, I have played over 600 matches in ML online, Completed 11 seasons of ML offline with my Blackburn Rovers team (Having won in all competitions and the last 2 seasons gone undefeated), and currently concentrating on completing my career with Galarath in Become a Legend. BAL is definately hard in itself as you can become very frustrated with the way your team mates play and not be able to do anything about it!

Until The release date of PES 2012, I have decided to concentrate on my BAL career. Currently, Galarath is nearly 25 and playing for chelsea. This means for me to complete his career, He needs to play for another 10 years. Thats a lot of games before the release, but it is now my mission!

I try to record any goals I score and post them on my YOUTUBE channel, so please feel free to take a look and comment.

BECOME A LEGEND - SENT OFF!

Welcome back to the Pro Evo Masters League blog.

Today is Tuesday, the day I keep you up to date with my goings on in the world of Become A Legend mode.

My created player, Galarath, has been gradually working through his career with much joy, but has also had some bad moments.

For the first time in BAL, I managed to get suspended after receiving a second yellow card on 90 minutes! I was not happy, especially as Barcelona were next in line to play my current team Deportivo La Caruna. 

The team played without me and lost 2-1. If I had been available, I feel I could have made a difference to the final result.

Generally as a rule, I try not to get booked, but with the different styles of referee in each game with PES 2011, there are a few that have a tendency to book most players that go in for a challenge.

I had to take it on the chin and select the 'skip until next call up' feature to get to my next available game. During the waiting period, I noticed that Deportivo had played another league cup game, but lost 1-0. This was not too bad as we had previously won the first leg 5-0. The next opponents were Valencia, who were currently top of the table.

I managed to get a few games in and made a good few performances that earnt me the MOTM awards in every game since my return from suspension. My ratings have been consistently between 7.0 and 7.5. My worst during the season had been 6.0 which was the game I got sent off.

Because of my decent performances, The team had managed a rise in the table and currently lie in a Europa League spot. 

I am currently playing in the second half of my first season with the club and things have settled quite well. I have noticed that once your team mates have taken to you because of your good performances, I can press the square button when I am not on the ball (ps3 version) and get my team mates to pressure the opposition and try harder for the ball. Until this time, your team mates tend to play how they want and can quite often run away from the ball without even challenging the attack that comes against them.

I am looking forward to playing the rest of the first season with the club, and maybe even stay another year. My goal tally is a little short on the rest in the league, but I hope things will change now I have my team onside.

BECOME A LEGEND - GALARATH AT DEPORTIVO LA CARUNA

With a new season underway, and a new team, my BaL player Galarath was set for life in La Liga. 

Up against some of the worlds top football teams, it was going to be a test to see if his skills had advanced enough for the tough matches to come. From the start, he was a favourite choice with the manager and looked set to be playing full 90 minute matches. His stamina had been gradually building up in the seasons previous, and overall the stats showed he only dipped with his passing skills. Other than passing, Galarath had gained the stat levels needed to raise his ovr to 81.

To get you up to date with my current progress, Galarath had played every league game and had won man of the match in almost every game. The latest fixture was a big match. Deportivo were to face one of Spain's footballing giants, Real Madrid. My biggest fear was they were fielding Cristiano Ronaldo and he was going to be on form, but low and behold, he was actually out of action! And I mean badly! If you see in the picture, he has a red cross against his name, meaning he will be out for a while.

This was definitely good news, but the rest of the team still looked tough to play against. Higuain was on form and had improved stats over the seasons since starting BaL. My team was OK, but still seemed no match for the might of Real.

I took to the challenge and played the game. Luckily for me, Real seemed to have dipped form and misplaced many passes. A half time  0 - 0 scoreline showed some sign of a chance to win the game. Deportivo had a few chances, and Galarath was helping out the team in many ways. By winning the ball back and dropping into defence, to making chances on goal and having a few shots himself.

In the 53rd minute, a golden opportunity arose and Galarath waved for the ball. He was in the middle of the box, as Guardardo ran down the right wing. As the ball came in, you could see Galarath's arm up as he called for the ball. He volleyed the shot straight past the keeper and scored the opener! You can see the goal below.

The game finished 1-0 to Deportivo, and Galarath was once again named man of the match. A huge win for the club, and a great achievement for Galarath.

PES 2011 Become A legend mode was proving to be very rewarding and enjoyable!

Bring on Barcelona is all I can say!

MASTER LEAGUE - BLACKBURN ROVERS vs CHELSEA FC

The master league is upon us once again

My team, Blackburn Rovers had been promoted from the Npower Championship and was on course to take the Premier league by storm, I hoped!

The first 4 games had seen them take 3 wins and a draw. Not a bad start to the newly promoted club. The players seemed to be taking things in their stride, but a bigger challenge awaited them just round the corner.

Everton and Fulham had been the harder clubs to play, but still gained 4 points between the games. The picture  to the right shows who Rovers were up against next.

Was this to be a giant killing game, or were they to be knocked senseless?

Chelsea were just below Blackburn in 4th place. Neither team had lost a game, so who was to gain another 3 points? Or were both to get even honours?

I started Blackburn's lineup as shown. Chelsea had a decent team to play against and it was not looking to be an easy game. Would my strikers play their socks off or, fumble to the pressure of such a big named club?

One thing was for sure, the players were not going down without a fight. As the many managers in BaL normally say........."were taking on a big team, try and do what you do best lads!"                                        

So the game kicked off with a formidable attack from Chelsea. They were fast, and Drogba was damned hard to get the ball away from. It seemed as though he had stuck the ball to his feet!

In the unlucky minute (you know the one I mean.......just a little superstitious!), I managed to slot a delightful goal into an open net, courtesy of Agbonlahor. It wasn't the first shot in that space of time, but I am sure you will see, it was deserved after the effort leading up to it.

I had taken plenty of shots previous to the goal, but did not manage to net any. The keeper was on a fair bit of form. I knew if I kept persisting, at least 1 shot would go in.

As the game went on, I was 1-0 up at half time. In the second half, I seemed to keep a good rhythm, although Chelsea seemed to lose theirs. Their passes were going a miss and each player seemed to be playing dumb when the ball came near. I wasn't sure of any bugs in the game, or generally if their players were a little tired.

The match was looking towards a win for Rovers as the time ran seriously close to 90 Min's. Then........under a stroke of great misfortune, Chelsea ended up with a lucky scramble in the box, to which Drogba assisted Sturridge who scored the equaliser. As the game was about to restart, The commentary mentioned that they had levelled with so little time remaining. This was very true, as when the match restarted, the final whistle blew. Chelsea had grabbed an extremely late equaliser and robbed Rovers of all 3 points. 

Not to worry, at least a point is better than none, plus the rest of the season awaited. I am sure their will be more challenges ahead!

Blackburn managed to stay in 3rd place, but Chelsea had slipped to 7th. I am sure this will change in future weeks, but until then, I am glad to be keeping my place.

BECOME A LEGEND - GALARATH'S FIRST WORLD CUP

Having played a relatively good season with AZ and received some good comments from his national team manager, Galarath was picked to play for England in the World Cup.

Favourable, above the likes of Rooney, Crouch and Defoe, Galarath was the top choice for the CF position with his National team

He had played quite a few friendlies along the way, but also helped England qualify for the most well known cup all over the globe.

From the start of the group stages, he made his presence known by playing some decent through balls and creating plenty of chances on goal in addition to having a few shots himself.

This however did not reflect in the manager's comments. The manager felt he was a real let down and had not played well. But his stats showed different. 

Being the lone striker it was to be a tough time on poor Galarath as he ended up losing out on many occasions due to pace.

England however did manage to go through to the knockout stages. Was this with the help of their lone striker? Unfortunately not! In the 3rd game of the group stages, Galarath missed out on the next 3 games due to an injury sustained during play.

Once back, His stats showed the promising 'red arrow' which he used to his advantage. The first game back from his absence, Galarath helped England to a 4-1 win over the Ivory Coast, setting up 2 goals and tracking back to defence whenever the team needed his help.

The semi finals proved to be tougher than expected, but the whole team did their part.

Galarath had supplied many through balls and crosses to ensure plenty of chances were created. Although he didn't score himself, his rating was an 8 due to his pass rate and interceptions. The opponents were Spain, who had previously won the world cup.

 The game finished 1-0 to England thanks to a brilliant run by Galarath which ended in the team winning a penalty. Rooney slotted the ball past the keeper and it was on to the Final!

Surprisingly, the opponent in the Final was Belgium. They were also much harder to play than expected, but I believe the game rewards teams that progress further in competitions, making them play better and harder to beat.

Undeterred, England came back from a 1-0 deficit in the first half. Galarath supplied yet another assist to draw level. Then in the 79th minute, a lofted through ball from Lennon allowed Galarath to score the winner and crown England as the World Cup winners!

After the results were shown, it was revealed that Galarath had won a few awards.

GALARATH BECOME A LEGEND

Since Become a Legend mode was first created with the PES franchise, I decided upon myself that no matter what happens, I would always give BaL a shot and see how well I could do with a player I have created from scratch.

I am sure there are plenty of you that have tried this mode, some who have had plenty of fun, and some who decided to drop out and concentrate on another area of Pro Evo.

Today's post is about bringing you up to speed with the latest news about my current BaL progress with my player Galarath.

From starting his career, I selected the CF position, with SS as a second option.

His first club was to be Newcastle Utd. There were offers from other clubs, but this seemed the best opportunity of regular matches. He did get subbed quite a few times in his first season, mainly due to the limited stamina. However notching 3 goals and 1 assist in the 30 games he played between the 2010-2011 and the 2011-2012 seasons was not a bad start for a player with such low stats.

My favourite team Blackburn was the next team in line in season 2011-2012. Playing 29 matches, scoring 8 and assisting 1 seemed like he was getting into his stride a little more. The stamina during games was a major problem which I addressed with his focus points to allow extra for extra training.

Between seasons 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 Galarath played for Bolton Wanderers. 9 goals and 4 assists added to his career tally from 34 games. It was an improvement, but still lacked the rise I was expecting from his work rate. Over the seasons so far he managed to notch up a whopping 25 Man of the Match awards, 3 FA cup Man of Match awards and was in the Premier League's best eleven at Bolton.

I felt it was time for a change from the Barclay's Premiership and shipped Galarath off to play for AZ in the Eridivisie. The team itself did not seem statistically strong, but they did however show commitment and helped Galarath score 27 goals in 47 matches in the 2013-2014  season. He also gained 3 assists. On top of his scoring ability, Galarath gained 15 Eridivisie Man of the match awards, which helped gain a place in the League's best eleven. He also won the Top Scorer award for the first season with AZ. AZ finished second behind Ajax, but had gained a place in the Champions league next season.

Thursdays post will follow on from the end of Season 2013-2014. The World Cup is soon to begin and Galarath has been called up to play for England. 

How well will he do? 

And will he steer England to glory?
