BECOME A LEGEND - GALARATH (OFFLINE)

Welcome back to the pro evo masters league!

Its been a few days since my last post as I have been a bit busy with going back to work after the Xmas holidays.
Today's post is about my career in Become A Legend offline mode with my player Galarath.

In previous versions of PES, I have always used this name as it was a name I used to use with other online games. It has always stuck and I just generally got used to using it.

Galarath has been progressing fairly well in his career. After a first year with Newcastle Utd, the team Galarath first signed for, He got a transfer to Blackburn Rovers. As you will all know, Blackburn are my team of choice and I try using them as much as I can. Unfortunately, he was still early on in his career and his stats were very low. I tried to utilise his current stats to make an impact for him at Rovers, but they seemed to not really be bothered about him (even though he was always the highest rated attacker in the team) and deemed him surplus to requirements! They had bought in a few players late in the season which led him to seek an alternative club.

When the offers came in, Bolton seemed the most favourable and they guaranteed an 87%  chance of matches. This was the best offer, so I proceeded and waived goodbye to my old team and moved on.

My contract with Bolton was for 2 years. The first year proved he was a consistent player and showed his stamina improve dramatically. Stamina was always a problem previously as he was always taken off around the 65th minute because he was too tired.

He was also called up to the England squad and has scored pretty much every game he has played. He has impressed the national team manager so much that he is rated higher than the likes of Rooney and Defoe.

Into the second season with Bolton, Galarath has shown a few signs of improvement, but has not made as much of an impact as in the first half of his contract.

Will he be able to improve and re-sign a contract with Bolton, or will he improve more to impress the bigger clubs? Only time and effort will tell.
I am hoping his stats improve more in the next season or 2. His speed, dribble accuracy and shooting accuracy are big factors at the moment, but also his passing stats. Passing is an item I have been throwing into his training schedule.
If you see on his stats, they have not improved at the same rate as everything else.
I am sure there are PES players out there that seem to have their players on much higher stats at this stage. I do have to mention that I am playing in the Top Player setting also. He has achieved some of the skill cards, but just the normal ones.

The extra special skills are something I do need to practice as I have never really mastered them before. About the only skill I managed to pull off successfully was the side step in previous versions on the PS2. I can occasionally do the Marseilles roulette, but to pull it off when you are using it during a match is another story. As of yet I have not managed it.

Until the next post, I would like to wish you good luck with your PES gaming, and hope you can bookmark my blog and visit again.

  1. What is the meaning of Galarath? If it's an anagram for something deeply personal you don't have to tell us ;)

Somehow BaL just can't sustain any interest for me. How do you maintain yours during the passages of play without the ball, for example - or when subbed, or not picked from the start? I always think that I should be a lot more into BaL than I am.

  2. Galarath is just a random name I came up with as a user on some mmorpg's that I used to play. It was meant to be some sort of fantast warrior type name, but I don't play any of those anymore.

As for BAL, I work really hard to help my team out to get the ball when I am playing, although this leaves the chance on goal a little slim. But generally, I make sure my player is ready and waiting and onside for when he does eventually get the ball passed to him. In the early stages when I didn't get many matches, I just used to keep busy doing something else while I waited to be brought on. The play stops and waits untill you confirm anyway so I can keep busy and not worry that he is just stood there.
During play in general, the key is to keep your player in good positions, and not use too much energy if you have low stamina, then go for it when you get the ball. When your stamina improves, just go for the ball whenever you can and pressure the other team. eventually you may get the ball and form a good attack.
