FA CUP FIRST MATCH - MASTER LEAGUE SEASON 2

Welcome back to the Pro Evo Masters League.

As you can see from the title, I was playing my Master League campaign with Blackburn Rovers. The next match was to be against Liverpool, in the first round of the FA cup. They were currently high up in the league table and had previously won the cup last season after thrashing Chelsea 4-0! 

I knew the game was not going to be easy, so I changed around my squad and tactics a little.

I started the match on defensive with a hint of counter attacking should I get the chance. 

I didn't manage to win the cup last season, but did get to the semi final, losing out to Aston Villa 2-1. A late own-goal in injury time lost it for me.

Well back to this season, Blackburn were doing well. Currently 2nd but level on points with Man Utd. Blackburn are the only team not to have lost a game so far. 5wins and 3 draws.

Most of this is my ability to defend in numbers and boot the ball up the pitch if so needed at the time.

The game with Liverpool got underway, and I could see they were going to be tough. They seemed to have much more pace on them and they were passing the ball easily past my players. The only way I would be able to counter would be if I kept the ball more out in the open and attack down the wing, The centre was where they mostly kept position.

I managed to keep them at bay, and in the 33rd minute, Malouda met the end of Robinho's cross and headed in a wonderful goal!

All I had to do now was to keep the ball and defend. The only problem was my team seemed to wake up and were actually doing everything that I wanted to do! I started having way more shots but the first half ended with Rovers 1-0 up.

Ten Min's into the second half, Pederson lofted a through ball to Defoe and, for a change, He put it past the keeper by a lovely toe poke!

Liverpool seemed to lose their mojo once the second went in, but still, my players just kept going. 

A 70th minute strike rounded off a good game for Defoe and of course for Blackburn.

The score finished 3-0 to Blackburn and put me through to the next round. The next round however, is against Man Utd who have been pretty good to late.
